This page explains what data savefb.io collects when you use the website, why we collect it, and how long we keep it. We aim for the smallest footprint a free web tool can reasonably have.
Data we process
When you submit a URL to the downloader, we process that URL to validate its shape and to fetch metadata needed to prepare the download. Standard server logs may record the request time, IP address, user agent, and referring page. These logs help us debug failures, fight abuse, and track aggregate usage.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your Facebook account, password, OAuth token, or any social login. We do not run fingerprinting scripts to track you across sites. We do not sell or rent personal data. The downloader does not require an account, and there is no profile to create or delete.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small amount of local storage to remember your theme preference (light or dark) and your selected language. Functional cookies may be set by the framework to support locale routing. We do not deploy advertising-personalization cookies on our own; any advertising network we use will display its own consent prompt where local law requires.
Third-party services
Some pages load third-party services such as ad networks, content delivery networks, and stock-image hosts. Those providers receive standard request data (IP address, user agent, page URL) governed by their own privacy policies. We do not share your submitted URL with advertisers.
Retention
Server logs are retained for a short window for security and debugging, typically no longer than 30 days, after which they are rotated or aggregated. Theme and language preferences live in your browser's local storage and remain until you clear them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because we don't operate accounts, the most common request is a log-deletion request tied to your IP address - contact us with the timestamp and we'll honor reasonable requests under applicable law.
Children
savefb.io is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service or applicable law changes. The header date reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be noted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
